Project Spotlight! Cabinet Painting in North Kingstown, RI
“We wanted them to go back to looking new again…”
For Jill, this was the ultimate goal. Her cabinets had yellowed with age, and she missed that bright, crisp, clean look. But there was really no need for a full remodel since the kitchen itself met her needs and was in good condition overall.
That’s where cabinet painting really shines: offering a way to update, refresh, or transform your kitchen without a long, messy remodel. Plus, while cabinet painting isn’t cheap, it doesn’t carry the same price tag as starting from scratch.
We’re grateful too that Jill and Mark knew exactly who to call. We’ve had the privilege of being their go-to house painters in Rhode Island for a number of years, and she immediately thought of us when it was time to put her cabinet repaint ideas into motion. In fact, we actually finished the work while she and Mark were out of town. That’s a high level of trust – one we don’t take lightly.
“It was a real treat to walk back in the door and look at the cabinets and the project completed… I felt like I walked into a brand new house again.”
Here are a few of our favorite photos, both in-process and finished. We’d also really encourage you to watch the video interview with Jill and Mike below, just to hear from them directly about their goals and overall cabinet painting experience.

How do you paint kitchen cabinets?
In case you’re curious, here’s a snapshot of our process:
- Schedule a free consultation. This is not a high-pressure sales pitch, but rather an opportunity for us to collect the key data we need to craft a detailed proposal. We’ll review the size of your kitchen, number of doors and drawers, unique features, existing finishes, overall condition, and also want to hear YOUR questions and ideas. After all, we’re collaborating on this together!
- You’ll get a detailed proposal. No fuzzy details or curveballs. Our proposals are clear, comprehensive, and lay out exactly what you can expect.
- Prepping your kitchen for painting. We meticulously mask off surrounding surfaces, cover your floor, and contain the space. We’ll also remove all your cabinet doors and drawer faces, then bring them back to our spray shop.
- Prepping your cabinets. The process makes ALL the difference! We take the time to carefully prepare your cabinet’s surfaces, ensuring that the products we apply have an ideal substrate for the best adhesion. Sanding, light repairs, cleaning… We do it right.
- Painting time! We’ll spray your cabinet doors and drawer faces in our shop for the best finish quality possible. Our state-of-the-art facility protects against contaminants (like dust and airborne debris), plus protects our painters and the environment.
- Reassembly. After painting the cabinet boxes in your home we’ll bring everything back from our shop and carefully put it all together. This can be a good time to update your hardware too, if you’d like.
And just like that, your cabinets are painted! The whole process typically takes about a week; an attractive alternative to the weeks and months it can take to remodel.
